History of Sick of Society
East Coast Oi-core .........Sick of Society formed in 1998 originally to play music we all loved and have fun. As time passed the band progressed and realized the music scene was missing something, we wanted to produce something original, so initially jamming out Oi tunes, heavily influenced by all music and Old school Hardcore we felt a new style could spawn. So we introduced Hardcore to our music and thus became an Oi-core band, new, original, in your face, raw and true. Before standing strong with our current foundation, We have gone threw many, many, many members throughout the years Each have contributed to what we are today. SOS has played with & support numerous great bands & Causes, progressed into something even the devil himself wouldn't approve of, spitting the truth in your face, weather you like it or not, we sing about real issues, hard times & life with a passion, yes we're still kickin it till this day....you wanna know more, you'll hear the music. Oi!!!

Interview with Final Warning Fanzine (from years past)
Final Warning Fanzine
This Interview is Taken in issue #3 Of Earth's Final Warning Fanzine
Messages from SOS: Aye brother sorry for the late reply we have been busy , but we have the interview done , let me know you got this!
1. Biography of your band?
South Florida's only original Oi-core band started in 1998, went through numerous line up changes, been standing strong with our current foundation for a few solid years now, each member has various influences to bring to the table, thus producing a unique sound blending Oi! with old school hardcore. We have played with many great bands, progressed into something even the devil himself wouldn't approve of, hardcore music with a twist of Oi! what a concept! spitting the truth in your face! not giving a fuck, and staying true to the music and fans, and yes we're still kickin’ it till this day....you wanna know more you'll hear the music!!!
2. Where did you get the name "Sick Of Society"?
Frustration with the world , people , scene ,politics ,and almost anything and everything in general. We wanted something that represented the need for an uprising threw the struggle we face, the oppression we withstand and where people can relate on all levels, thus we came up with Sick of society!
3. Best and worst gig of the band.
We have played so many shows its hard to go back and choose which gigs were your worst and best. We try to make the best of each time we go up on stage , whether it's for 2 people or 2000 people, we want to have them all in awe and relate fuck shit up and go crazy ,sing our songs and carry on, so we can keep doing what we do. There have been bad times and good times which progress the band in each experience, so to single out one would be irrelevant.
4. Who are the band influences?
There are numerous music influences like Sheer Terror, Blood for Blood, Cock Sparrer, Condemned 84, Anti-Nowhere League, Bruisers, Iron Cross, Youth of Today, not just punk, hardcore and Oi either we all like many different styles, or we would just sound like the next band you know. We try to be open minded and everything, as musicians, we look for that in people & in bands to open the horizon and create new songs, gather ideas and continue the legacy!
5. Where is the most amazing place you have ever toured and why?
We just recently played the Oi! Fest in PA. Amazing lineups set for three days of chaos. We met a ton of bands up there and ended up making a lot of great friends up there by playing. The Offenders, Razorblade Hand Grenade, Alleged Bricks, The Ivy League ,Common Enemy, The 86ed and a lot other great Oi!/Hardcore bands. I would say as of this day I would play that Oi! Fest every year if we could.
6. What is the most important issue you think the nation needs to address?
We are inches away from Martial Law. I would like to say our so-called freedom that everyone loves so much to be taken away from us. We need to worry about what’s going on in our country before we fight other countries wars. Our government is in a state of collapsing around a false image of god. Fuck, take my taxes and put them towards more beneficial things like helping kids in America get a better education, poverty, hunger, environrnent and issues that matter . We fight for the kids who never had nothing.. We are giving the people a reason to fight.
7. Can you tell us the underground scene in your place?
The scene in Florida is getting larger everyday. More bands, Oi!/Streetpunk bands showing up all over now-a-days. Personally we'd like to move on and tour, and put out a full length album. Once you've played everywhere in vicinity 100's of times it gets old. Besides all the crew bullshit we like to think it's a strong scene that can only get better. The underground scene exists because of people like you and me who believe in something. Oi! Music is and always will be music from the streets that we represent.
8. Do you have any plans in the future?
We all agree that our new recording will be taking place by the end of the year. So to answer that question it would be to bring our music to every major city in America and then show the world what were about.
9. How to contact you?
You can shoot us an email over at sickofsociety01@yahoo.com or you can contact us on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/sickofsociety. You will see alot more about us promoting shows and hopefully soon kicking out a label.
10. Last words or shouts to all the kids out there.
Thanks for all the years of supporting us. It will only get bigger and better. Cheers to all the Florida Local Bands, Lucky Scars, Los Greenkardz, Hellhounds. Find them to Fight them, DNME, Suburban Lockdown and all of our fans. Always keep your head up and never give in, its what's inside that counts ,remember we are all here for the music , oath to this - there is a much larger enemy out there(nazis, yuppies, scum, government etc...) who oppress us and the working man. We need to stick together instead of fighting each other from within , before its too late, or we will demise for some is our only love, THE SCENE!!! unite worldwide! We will see you in the pit motherfuckers!!!! Thanks a lot! -Sick of society
